The Rev. Heidi Rodrick-Schnaath has been a pastor for over thirty years. Before coming to St. Matthew’s in April of 2018, she served congregations in Missouri and Illinois and was most recently on the staff of United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia.
Pastor Heidi grew up in “the C states” – Connecticut, California and Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in English Literature and received her Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She is currently working to complete her Doctor of Ministry at United Lutheran Seminary. Her area of study is the relationship of fiction narrative to faith development and growth.
Pastor Heidi loves stories of all kinds! She believes that telling our stories is one way that we build community. When we engage with the Bible we are blessed with stories of God and people of faith. As the church we get to experience the intersections between our stories and God’s story. It is in those crossroads that we experience the love and the grace of God.
Pastor lives in Bedminster with her husband Matt Schnaath, their adult daughter Katie, their cat Lillian Gish and their dog Genevieve. She loves old movies, adolescent dystopian literature, knitting and connecting with loved ones in various ways on the internet. She is a longtime member of the RevGalsBlogPals online community and serves as one of their Facebook administrators and writes for the Ask the Matriarch feature.
